Anthropic Console & Workbench

The Anthropic Console is the control panel for managing your account and API usage. The Workbench is the interactive testing environment.

Console — Account management

  • API Keys: Create and revoke keys with granular permissions
  • Usage: Monitor token consumption and costs in real time
  • Organizations: Manage teams and permissions

Workbench — Prompt playground

The Workbench lets you test prompts without writing code:

  1. Select the model (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku)
  2. Configure temperature and parameters
  3. Write system prompt and user messages
  4. View response and token usage
  5. Export the prompt as Python or TypeScript code

Evaluations

The Workbench also includes an evaluation tool for comparing the performance of different prompts or models using your own datasets.
